Cintoo Uses AI to Accelerate Asset Identification Across 3D Reality Capture Workflows
Cintoo has announced the launch of Click and Tag, an AI-powered real-time segmentation solution designed to accelerate equipment identification within digital twin and reality capture workflows. The technology is powered by Cintoo Vision AI, the company’s initiative to harness artificial intelligence to deliver greater insight, automation and value across reality capture processes.
Tagging assets across complex industrial environments where thousands of components need to be identified and managed is a time consuming and laborious task. Click and Tag reduces tagging time from over a minute per asset to just seconds by replacing manual 3D bounding box manipulation with real-time segmentation. This improves how users identify, tag and manage assets within their 3D scan data, enhancing accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
With Click and Tag, users can click on a valve or pipe route, for example, and automatically generate a precise, geometry-aware tag that conforms to the object’s true shape or full pipe path.
A spokesperson from VRSI (Variation Reduction Solutions, Inc.), explained: “By tagging critical assets, like robot coordinate frame locations and STL meshes for robot collision detection, we’re creating a single source of truth. This is enabling us to strengthen validation, streamline integration with our downstream simulation workflows and bring traceability to our projects.”
Dominique Pouliquen, Cintoo’s CEO, added: “By embedding AI directly into the asset tagging workflow, we’re removing one of the most time-intensive manual processes and enabling teams to work faster, more accurately and at a greater scale.”
In large-scale industrial facilities, teams are using Click and Tag to dramatically accelerate asset identification across dense pipe networks and complex assemblies. What once required painstaking manual selection and adjustment can now be completed in seconds, enabling faster handover and more scalable asset management across entire sites.
