SHINING 3D Expands Wireless 3D Metrology Lineup
SHINING 3D has announced major updates and additions to its professional 3D digitizing and metrology lineup. Combining untethered wireless freedom, advanced laser configurations, and integrated metrology-grade accuracy, these new product releases aim to streamline large-scale inspection and industrial measurement workflows.
Untethered Freedom for Industrial Inspection
The newly launched FreeScan Combo+ Wireless brings cable-free mobility to the popular combo family.
Next-Gen Connectivity & Power: Driven by the Wi-Fi 7 protocol, the system delivers fast, stable wireless data transmission across complex factory floors and outdoor environments, supported by a high-capacity rechargeable battery providing up to 2 hours of continuous scanning.
Built-In Photogrammetry: Incorporating SHINING 3D’s patent Video Photogrammetry (VPG) Technology, operators can capture large-scale frameworks using scale bars to maintain optimized volumetric accuracy before transitioning to laser scanning.
Enhanced Scanning Performance: In High-Speed Scan Mode, the system now features 93 laser lines, complemented by 25 parallel laser lines in Detailed Scan Mode, achieving frame rates up to 180 FPS.
Intelligent Workflows: Scanning software introduces an AI Recognition function that automatically detects holes during scanning, allowing users to switch seamlessly into inspection software for 3D color map comparisons, GD&T analysis, and sheet metal inspection.
Ultra-Large Tracking Range and Full Mobility
Designed for efficient large-scale workpiece measurement, the FreeScan Trak ProW+ is the upgraded successor to the FreeScan Trak ProW.
Expanded Single-Station Volume: Features an ultra-long tracking distance of up to 8.6 meters and expands the single-station tracking volume to 156 m³, minimizing the need for leapfrog operations.
High-Speed Marker-Free Scanning: Delivers speeds up to 7.6 million points per second with multiple laser modes (93 crossed lines, 25 parallel lines, and a single line) without requiring time-consuming marker placements.
Flexible Probing & Multi-Tracker Support: Can be paired with the FreeProbe series for wireless portable probing on hard-to-reach features, and multiple Trak ProW+ systems can work together for full-field coverage on extremely large objects.
Upgraded Efficiency for Metrology-Grade Tracking
Building on the proven platform of the FreeScan Trak Nova, the new FreeScan Trak Nova+ delivers enhanced scanning performance while maintaining metrology-grade reliability.
Upgraded Laser Configuration: Achieves scanning speeds up to 7,600,000 points/s. In tracking mode, it offers 62 laser lines for high-speed scans, 25 parallel lines for detailed scans, and 1 laser line for deep pockets.
Dual-Function Design: The unique separable tracker can also function independently as a large-FOV handheld laser scanner, with its UE Nova component upgraded to feature 62 laser lines (up from 50 in the previous generation).
Traceable Metrology Accuracy: As part of the FreeScan Trak Nova series, the system delivers high-accuracy measurements verified according to VDI/VDE 2634 and ISO 10360 standards within SHINING 3D’s ISO 17025-accredited Accuracy Laboratory, fulfilling rigorous industrial quality inspection standards.
Mobile Workstation Integration: Can be paired with a dedicated mobile workstation integrating high-performance computing and battery power for complete on-site freedom.
These latest introductions – the FreeScan Combo+ Wireless, FreeScan Trak ProW+, and FreeScan Trak Nova+ – demonstrate SHINING 3D’s ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of professional 3D metrology. By integrating advanced wireless mobility, faster scanning speeds, and rigorous metrology-grade accuracy into versatile, user-focused platforms, SHINING 3D continues to empower manufacturers and inspection professionals to simplify complex workflows and elevate overall measurement productivity.
