Sensofar Introduces Next Generation Optical 3D Surface Metrology Platform

Sensofar has announced the introduction of the S neox 6, the latest generation of its optical 3D surface metrology platform. Designed to support measurement needs across industry and research, the new system expands measurement possibilities while making the entire process faster, easier, and more intuitive. Building on more than 25 years of expertise in optical metrology, the S neox 6 introduces significant advances in hardware, software, automation, and measurement performance.

Multiple Technologies Combined in One System

For more than 20 years, Sensofar systems have integrated multiple optical technologies into a single platform. The S neox 6 builds on this multi-technology approach, combining ConfocalInterferometryAI Focus Variation, and Spectroscopic Reflectometry to address different surfaces and measurement requirements.

Confocal: Delivers high lateral resolution for 3D surface measurement across smooth to very rough surfaces.

Interferometry: Provides exceptional height resolution for precise measurement, with PSI, ePSI, and CSI modes.

AI Focus Variation: Enables efficient 3D shape measurement over large, rough, and steep surfaces by combining focus-based optical profiling with active illumination.

Spectroscopic Reflectometry: Measure transparent thin films and layered materials quickly and non-destructively.

Performance in the S neox 6 goes beyond individual specifications. It extends throughout the measurement workflow, from sample setup and acquisition to data processing and analysis.

Greater flexibility in sample positioning, improved mechanical stability, faster acquisition, advanced algorithms, and automation capabilities such as Autofocus and automated leveling help reduce manual adjustments and streamline measurement and analysis. Together, these improvements support higher throughput while maintaining data quality.

Designed For Evolving Measurement Needs

The S neox 6 supports applications in semiconductors, photonics, precision manufacturing, medical devices, aerospace, and other fields where surface characteristics play an increasingly important role in product performance and quality.
With the S neox 6, we set out to make advanced optical metrology more versatile and more intuitive, helping users measure a wider range of surfaces, work more efficiently, and make confident decisions from high-quality 3D data.” said Roger Artigas, President and CTO at Sensofar.

As components become smaller and surface structures more complex, measurement requirements continue to evolve. Flexible optical metrology gives research and industrial teams the tools to characterize increasingly diverse materials, geometries, textures, and structures.

With the S neox 6, Sensofar continues to advance optical surface metrology by combining scientific expertise, technology development, and a close understanding of evolving industry and research needs.
