The advanced AI software in the Keyence VL-800 Series allows users to place a part on the stage and instantly generate a 3D scan—no fixtures or reference stickers are required. The software autonomously integrates multiple scans into a complete 360° model, ensuring comprehensive analysis without manual intervention.

Designed with an integrated camera and stage structure, the VL-800 minimizes distortion using Keyence’s proprietary positioning algorithm. This ensures high-precision measurements over a wide range of part sizes. Featuring a 9-megapixel WDR-CMOS sensor and high-performance lenses, the VL-800 achieves double the resolution of conventional models, capturing part geometry in full color with minimal noise. Additionally, the ‘WDR Scan’ algorithm enables 360° scanning of parts ranging in size, while the smart stage supports a robust 50 Kg (110 lb) load capacity and offers a 45° tilt.

Seamless CAD Comparison and Analysis

By comparing a scanned part to its CAD file, users can easily detect deformation and warpage. The system calculates total deviation and visualizes differences efficiently. In cases where CAD files are unavailable, parts can be compared to other parts for insightful analysis, such as identifying variations between molds and cavities, comparing parts from different suppliers and assessing wear and tear on used components.

The VL-800 supports 12 types of GD&T measurements, including flatness, position, and profile, with CAD models as datum references for complex surface analysis.
