Royma Industrial CT Launches New X-Ray Inspection Systems

Royma Industrial CT has unveiled two new X-ray inspection solutions designed to address the evolving quality assurance requirements of the battery, die-casting and electronics sectors. The new Royma Cellink and Royma DieCast systems expand the company’s industrial inspection portfolio, offering manufacturers enhanced flexibility, imaging performance and production-ready inspection capabilities.

Royma Cellink Targets Long and Flat Component Inspection

The newly introduced Royma Cellink system has been specifically developed for efficient 2D X-ray inspection of long and flat components. The system is well suited to applications including long die-casting parts, large printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic assemblies and other flat industrial products.

Cellink combines a compact flat panel detector with a closed microfocus X-ray tube to deliver high-resolution imaging while maintaining a flexible and scalable system architecture. Manufacturers can configure the platform according to their production requirements, ranging from a compact 1 m × 1 m installation footprint for smaller components through to systems capable of inspecting parts measuring up to 5 metres in length.

This adaptability makes Cellink an attractive solution for companies seeking automated inspection of large-format components without the complexity and cost typically associated with custom X-ray systems.

Royma positions Cellink as a cost-effective entry point into automated X-ray inspection for large and elongated parts.

Royma DieCast Delivers High-Power 2D and 3D Inspection

Complementing the Cellink platform, the new Royma DieCast system is engineered for the inspection of thicker, denser and more complex die-cast components.

The system offers both traditional 2D X-ray imaging and full 3D computed tomography (CT) inspection, enabling manufacturers to identify internal defects and structural anomalies with a high degree of accuracy.

Key features include:

  • 2D and full 3D CT inspection capability
  • Large flat panel detector combined with a C-arm system architecture
  • Open microfocus X-ray tube delivering up to 450 kV for deep material penetration

The high-energy configuration allows reliable inspection of dense castings and complex geometries that can challenge conventional X-ray systems. This capability is particularly valuable in automotive, aerospace and industrial manufacturing applications where internal integrity and process control are critical.

Advanced Software Platform Enhances Inspection Performance

Both the Royma Cellink and Royma DieCast systems are powered by the latest generation of Royma inspection software. The software platform provides intuitive operation, advanced defect detection capabilities and streamlined integration into modern manufacturing environments.

By combining flexible hardware configurations with advanced imaging and analysis tools, Royma aims to provide manufacturers with scalable inspection solutions capable of supporting increasing quality requirements across battery production, electronics manufacturing and die-casting operations.

The launch of Cellink and DieCast further strengthens Royma Industrial CT’s position in the non-destructive testing (NDT) and industrial computed tomography market, offering manufacturers new options for high-performance X-ray inspection across a wide range of component sizes and material densities.
