As we enter 2025, metrology is at the forefront of manufacturing innovation. Driven by Industry 4.0 and the rise of Industry 5.0, metrology has evolved from a support function to a cornerstone of precision-driven production. Throughout 2025 Metrology News will be highlighting the increasing role of metrology in manufacturing’s future and the key trends and technologies shaping it.

In today’s interconnected economy, precision and sustainability are essential. Metrology ensures quality in industries like aerospace, automotive, and electronics, where tolerances are microscopic. The integration of digital twins, predictive analytics, and AI-driven quality control is transforming metrology into a tool for proactive quality assurance, optimizing processes, and reducing waste.

While advancements in metrology are exciting, challenges remain. Interoperability, data management, and a skills gap must be addressed.
