AI4RVI Brings Onboard AI to High-Definition Tube Inspection
AI4RVI has announce the launch of Edgevision, a next-generation remote visual inspection (RVI) system built to deliver true high-definition imaging of tube interior conditions including boilers, heat exchangers.
Edgevision takes its name from the onboard NVIDIA Jetson ‘Edge’ computer that powers the entire system, including video recording, image capture, and all camera functions. Because processing happens on the device itself, Edgevision operates 100% offline, a design built with the realities of industrial inspection sites in mind.
The system delivers a true HDTV (1920x1080p) video pipeline through a 176-degree wide-angle lens, optimized specifically for boiler and heat exchanger tube ID inspection. Its detachable, submersible camera head is under 1 inch (25mm) in diameter and connects via a 98.4-foot (30m) push-able cable, allowing inspectors to reach and clearly image areas that are otherwise difficult to assess.
Edgevision offers two optional AI-powered features: AI-assisted report generation and auto-anomaly detection with standardized anomaly coding, giving inspection teams the option to accelerate reporting and flag potential issues as they work.
Additional features include:
- Wi-Fi control via a Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 with a 3.2k display hosting the Edgevision software
- Supervisory viewing via Wi-Fi and HDMI video output
- External video input via USB port for alternate video sources, with a footage counter display
- Two hot-swappable batteries for continuous cordless use in the field
- Compact, lightweight design at under 20 lbs. (9 kg), built to fit through steam- or mud-drum manways
- Complete system package including an ATA shipping case, three camera centering fixtures, and keyboard
“With Edgevision, we set out to give inspectors a system that finally matches the true HDTV imaging the industry has been asking for, without sacrificing the portability and offline reliability that fieldwork demands,” said Bruce Pellegrino, VP Marketing, AI4RVI, Inc.”
