ZEISS SPECTRUM CMM Offers Performance With Flexibility
The new ZEISS SPECTRUM series is setting a new standard for bridge-type coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), combining top-tier accuracy with extensive sensor flexibility. Built to support efficient quality control processes, the ZEISS SPECTRUM family offers advanced technology, optional active scanning capabilities, and highly precise measurement results across a range of parts and applications. In addition to dependable tactile measurements, the ZEISS SPECTRUM series is also equipped for optical scanning, compatible with the new ZEISS LineScan One laser scanner. This addition brings an exceptional price-performance ratio to the optical scanning space, a true highlight in its category.
Tactile and Optical Measurement Flexibility
ZEISS SPECTRUM CMMs deliver comprehensive measurement capabilities with a wide selection of tactile and optical sensors, making it easy to measure parts of varying geometries and surfaces. This versatility provides consistent and accurate results, giving users confidence in every measurement. The ZEISS SPECTRUM is available in multiple configurations, catering to applications requiring single-point measurement, scanning mode, or enhanced flexibility with the RDS probe head, which is ideal for complex structures. The choice of optical measurement solutions ensures a tailored approach for every application.
Built to Withstand the Toughest Environments
Designed to be the most robust and reliable high-end CMM in its class, the ZEISS SPECTRUM features glass ceramic scales that resist temperature fluctuations, eliminating the need for temperature sensors. Its reinforced base frame and tripod construction offer improved force distribution, enabling quick and cost-effective installation for a faster start-up.
The RDS probe head, with integrated Computer-Aided Accuracy (CAA), minimizes setup time, while its compact sensor design optimizes the available measuring volume, eliminating the need for a larger CMM even for bigger workpieces.
ZEISS SPECTRUM Verity: Enhanced Accuracy Through Active Scanning
For applications requiring the utmost accuracy, ZEISS SPECTRUM Verity offers active tactile scanning capabilities. Single-point measurements can miss subtle deviations, but the advanced ZEISS scanning technology captures thousands of data points in seconds, ensuring truly reliable tactile quality assurance.
Active scanning offers higher speed, operational safety, and data density compared to traditional single-point measurements. The continuous scanning movement minimizes environmental impacts, providing accurate, high-throughput results essential for precision manufacturing.
The ZEISS VAST XT gold sensor further enhances the system’s active scanning capabilities with software-controlled force adjustments that maintain minimal, consistent pressure across the stylus. This real-time force adaptation improves accuracy, speeds up measurement, and is particularly effective for measuring non-standard geometries. The VAST XT gold accommodates stylus lengths up to 500mm, while the VAST XXT supports various styli configurations, including lateral star probes up to 65 mm, making it possible to measure complex features in a single setup.
ZEISS SPECTRUM’s RDS step range of 5° in A and B axes enables 5,184 possible positions; ZEISS SPECTRUM verity’s step range of 2,5° achieves 20,736 positions. With CAA, the time for full probe qualification takes just 12 minutes.
The machine operator benefits form a user-friendly and ergonomic working position in front of the CMM while the reduced overall height and footprint of the ZEISS SPECTRUM series further support ergonomic working conditions.
