Revopoint Introduces Wireless Marker-Free Trackit SR 3D Scanner

Revopoint has announced the launch of the Trackit SR, a wireless optical tracking 3D scanner designed to simplify industrial metrology workflows by eliminating cables and marker points while maintaining high measurement accuracy.

The system is intended for applications including aerospace, automotive manufacturing, quality control, reverse engineering, and field inspection, where large or complex components can present challenges for conventional scanning methods.

Wireless Scanning with Optical Tracking

Trackit SR uses optical tracking technology to determine the scanner’s position in real time, removing the need to place reference markers on the part being measured. According to Revopoint, the system supports three laser scanning modes that can be selected depending on the inspection task:

Fine Mode – 30 blue cross laser lines for detailed scanning.

Far Mode – 17 blue parallel laser lines for capturing larger surfaces.

Deep Hole Mode – a single blue laser line for recessed features and cavities.

The company says the scanner can capture dark, reflective and metallic surfaces without requiring surface sprays or marker targets.

Accuracy for Industrial Inspection

Revopoint specifies a single-frame accuracy of 0.02 mm and a volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m).

Integrated temperature sensors monitor environmental conditions during scanning to help minimise measurement drift. For users requiring traceable verification, the CMM Edition includes a certified ball plate that enables on-site accuracy validation.

Portable, Fully Wireless Operation

Both the handheld scanner and optical tracker communicate with a PC using Wi-Fi 6, eliminating the need for data cables during operation. The handheld scanner incorporates a rechargeable battery with a quoted operating time of up to 2.5 hours, while an optional battery grip is available for the tracking unit.

Revopoint states that the system can operate in ambient lighting conditions of up to 100,000 lux, making it suitable for both indoor production environments and outdoor applications such as engineering surveys, archaeological documentation and on-site industrial measurement.

Integrated Software Workflow

Trackit SR is supported by three software applications designed to provide a continuous workflow from data acquisition through inspection and reverse engineering.

Revo Track manages data capture and registration during scanning. Scan data can then be transferred directly to Revo Measure for GD&T analysis, deviation inspection and reporting, or into Revo Design for reverse engineering and CAD model generation. Supported export formats include STEP, IGES and STL.

The software applications share a common data environment, allowing users to move between scanning, inspection and CAD preparation without repeatedly exporting and importing datasets.

Industrial Applications

Revopoint positions Trackit SR for a range of measurement and inspection tasks, including dimensional verification of aerospace and automotive components, inspection of moulds and castings with deep internal features, and digital documentation of cultural heritage objects through high-resolution geometry and texture capture.

The introduction of Trackit SR reflects the growing trend toward portable, wireless metrology systems that aim to reduce setup time while extending high-accuracy 3D measurement beyond the traditional inspection room and onto the production floor and into field environments.
