INSPHERE Expands ORA Robot Control Software Platform Functionality
INSPHERE, innovators of robotics intelligence solutions, originally developed ORA robot control software to work with their existing IONA solution which gathers metrology grade positional data in robot cells. The value of live positional data is that, when paired with control software, it can be used to correct for variation in part location, cell setup or inherent errors in an automated system – enabling robot simulations and programs to be updated either periodically or in-process.
ORA takes raw measurement data and provides incredibly precise, actionable insights for engineers. It makes it possible to apply remote, in-process robot cell adjustments to improve production accuracy and efficiency – saving time, money and reducing waste. Put simply, ORA allows the user to bring offline programs online without the need for manual intervention.
Since its launch, INSPHERE has been continually developing ORA software to provide an ever more sophisticated robot control solution, available to use in a multitude of situations.
Flexible and Adaptable
The latest version of ORA is flexible, adaptable and works with many different robot brands and sensing systems. This means that, should an organisation have an existing robot measurement system in place, ORA can work with it.
This flexibility is a key benefit when customers have laser trackers or other robot sensing tools, giving them the ability to utilise sophisticated ORA software for robot cell improvements, without having to upgrade existing sensing options. In addition to this, ORA can integrate with other software systems for a completely tailored solution.
Ease of Integration
ORA software has been designed for pain free installation – integrating with major robot OEMs and using native programming languages. It can also integrate with MES platforms at the factory level.
Multi-Functional and Intuitive Use
A library of standard functions is available when using ORA, accessed via an API, including robot path verification, tool and base calibration, automated fixture alignment, and iterative TCP correction. The interface is incredibly intuitive to use, with a 3D environment and graphical display of the data generated.
