German Robotics and Automation Industry Anticipates Significant 2023 Growth

The German robotics and automation industry expects its turnover to grow by 9 percent reaching 15.7 billion euros in 2023.

“Demand for robotics and automation remains high and the transformation of many customer industries requires innovative automation solutions. The easing in supply chain disruptions is now putting the industry in a position to successively work off the enormously high order backlog. We expect an additional boost for our business from the leading international trade show automatica, which will be held in Munich from June 27 to 30, 2023. Therefore, we firmly expect to significantly exceed our previous sales record of 2018 and thus finally leave the pandemic behind us,” says Frank Konrad, Chairman of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association and CEO of Hahn Automation GmbH in Rheinböllen, Germany.

Leading Trade Fair With Extensive Supporting Program

Automatica, the leading trade fair for Smart Automation and Robotics, will present all innovations and trends in industrial automation in six exhibition halls during the last week of June.

“Its complete range of products and services and its extensive supporting program ensure automatica’s undisputed thematic leadership. As the trade show’s conceptual sponsor, we are looking forward to a dazzling array of innovations and highlights: the ‘Mobile Robots in Production’ showcase, the Service Robot City, and a decentralized Umati demonstrator with connected machines. In addition, the visitor will experience the Test Zone, Start-Up Arena, Machine Vision Expert Huddles, the munich_i Hightech Summit with its special showcase ‘AI Society’ as well as the popular automatica presentation forum. This makes automatica a not-to-be-missed event,” says Patrick Schwarzkopf, Managing Director of VDMA Robotics + Automation.
