E-Chuck Revolutionizing Precision Clamping

In the realm of precision manufacturing and metrology, the ability to securely and accurately hold intricate components is paramount. Enter the E-Chuck — a next-generation clamping solution engineered to meet the evolving demands of ultra-precise machining and measurement environments. The E-Chuck stands out for its exceptional precision and secure clamping capabilities, making it ideal for handling the most delicate and finely detailed parts. Its adjustable clamping force ensures that even the most fragile components can be held safely without risk of deformation or damage. This level of control is critical in high-precision industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and microelectronics. One of the E-Chuck’s most innovative features is its ability to rotate endlessly around its own axis. This continuous rotation not only enables seamless access to all sides of a part but also supports the machining of complex geometries with unprecedented ease. Whether dealing with multi-faceted surfaces or intricate 3D contours, the E-Chuck ensures optimal accessibility and positioning accuracy.

Mahr To Present Comprehensive Scattered Light Inspection Portfolio

With the acquisition of OptoSurf, Mahr has sustainably expanded its portfolio to include scattered light technology. By implementing the OptoSurf portfolio Mahr is opening up new opportunities in the field of tribology. Ball screw drives are used to convert rotary motion into longitudinal motion such as in machine tools and steering systems. Particularly in the latter, efficiency, wear and possible noise development depend heavily on the surface quality of the ball tracks. This is where the OptoRack measuring machine from Mahr comes into its own. MarSurf3D OptoRack was specially developed for process monitoring during the grinding and finishing of racks and ball screws. Due to a swivel axis, the sensor can measure the roughness and waviness separately on paths to the right and left of the pressure point of the raceways at any point on the spindle.
