GelSight Mobile 4.4 Release Advances Guided Surface Inspection
GelSight, a pioneer in surface analysis technology, has announced the release of GelSight Mobile 4.4, the latest software update designed to remove friction across the entire inspection workflow from calibration, capture, analysis, and reporting.
GelSight Mobile 4.4 builds on the platform’s evolution from a powerful measurement device into a guided, decision-ready inspection system. This release introduces enhanced offset output statistics, animated step-by-step calibration guidance for the Modulus™ sensor, customizable PDF report templates, stacked routines in Operator mode, PLY file export and more to collectively reduce training time, inspection time, and post-processing effort.
The update further solidifies GelSight Mobile’s role in putting laboratory-grade metrology into the hands of production inspectors, while adding the workflow flexibility and reporting capabilities that customers expect in an industrial setting.
“With GelSight Mobile 4.4, we’ve focused on removing the small friction points that slow inspectors down, whether that’s stepping through calibration, chaining together routines, or getting a multi-scan report out the door,” said Dennis Lang, Chief Business Officer at GelSight. “Taken together, these updates expedite the entire inspection process and provide more guidance, without sacrificing any of the measurement confidence our customers rely on.”
Key New Features in GelSight Mobile 4.4 Include:
Offset Output Statistics (Average / Minimum / Maximum): Multi-profile analysis now delivers aggregate offset statistics, now including minimum and maximum, across a measurement set, giving inspectors rich, decision-ready data without manual post-processing.
Guided Step-by-Step Calibration Animations for Modulus™: Interactive animations in Calibrate mode walk operators through the Modulus sensor setup process, reducing training time and minimizing calibration errors on the production floor.
PDF Report Templates: Customizable report templates allow teams to generate professional, standardized inspection reports directly from the system, streamlining documentation and audit-readiness.
Stacked Routines in Operator Mode: Operators can now chain multiple inspection routines in sequence, enabling more complex, multi-step workflows to be executed in a single guided session and reducing the potential for operator error.
PLY File Export: 3D surface data can now be exported in the PLY format, improving interoperability with downstream analysis tools, CAD environments, and digital quality systems.
Together, these capabilities extend GelSight Mobile’s value as an end-to-end inspection platform. It can now reduce the burden on both operators and quality engineers while delivering greater consistency, traceability, and confidence in surface measurement data.
