Atlas Copco Acquires Automotive Integrated Quality Solutions Supplier
VisionTools Bildanalyse Systeme GmbH (VisionTools), a German company that develops and sells integrated solutions for quality control in assembly lines, has become part of Atlas Copco Group. VisionTools, headquartered in Waghäusel, develops and sells smart, integrated quality control solutions primarily aimed at the automotive industry. VisionTools installs and adapts systems for different customer needs. The company has 80 employees.
“With this acquisition we further create value for our customers by enhancing our smart integrated assembly offering to the automotive industry”, said Henrik Elmin, Business Area President for Industrial Technique.
Founded in 1986 by Dr. Hermann Tropf following 12 years as a scientific employee at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Vision Tool’s V60 powerful image analysis software package combined with industrial computer, cameras, and lighting creates a complete image processing solution with process control and communication to higher-level systems. The V60 image analysis software can handle simple tasks just as easily as complex major projects with multiple cameras and 3D scanners.
You can parameterise and freely combine our tested modules in the form of objects, creating sophisticated solutions – and all without any programming knowledge. With a wide selection of unique 2D and 3D analysis methods and objects to freely design process controls, the V60 image analysis software offers maximum flexibility to design customised solutions. The software supports numerous camera models, 3D scanners, and interfaces to higher-level machine controllers. It can also be connected to custom machine data recording systems for statistics and data protection Systems.
The purchase price was not disclosed. During 2023 VisionTools revenues amounted to approximately 14 MEUR.
The business will become part of the Motor Vehicle Industry Tools and Assembly Systems division within the Industrial Technique Business Area of Atlas Copco.
