Verisurf Metrology Software With Integrated CAD/CAM/CAI Featured at EMO
Verisurf Software, with reseller partner Accurate Gauging and Instruments, Ltd, will be demonstrating advanced metrology solutions for aerospace, automotive, energy, and more at the EMO 2023 exhibition in Hannover, September 18-23. (Hall 6, Stand A35) Demonstrations will include programming and operating Accurate Gauging 5-axis CMMs with Verisurf’s integrated CAD/CAM/CAI (Computer Aided Inspection) software platform.
This is made possible by the Verisurf legacy as the only metrology software built on a full-featured 3D CAD/CAM platform with intelligent Model-Based Definition (MBD). This ensures data integrity and lets users perform metrology workflows in a seamless CAD environment while maintaining model-based digital continuity. Verisurf software is compatible with all CAD file formats, and the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI), with virtual CMM display, communicates with and operates all programmable and portable CMMs for universal compatibility. The software’s modular design enables users to quickly shift from reverse engineering to inspection to tool building, efficiently capturing and processing measurement data for practical metrology applications with repeatable process control across the manufacturing enterprise.
“Verisurf Software has been a leader in 3D measurement technologies using CNC CMMs and portable CMMs for many years. Our product and company have grown alongside our partners at Mastercam, making us intimate with CAD, CAM, and CNC machining. We understand customer needs, and we design our software to stay ahead of emerging technologies and expanding requirements,” said Nick Merrell, Executive Vice President of Verisurf Software, Inc.
Every year, Verisurf Software releases a major software update with new productivity tools, many of which engaged customers recommend. The following new Verisurf 2024 features will be included in demonstrations during EMO.
New Extract to Plan
The software automatically recognizes features and associated GD&T CAD nominals in point clouds and meshes. With a single click, extract all or select specific features to be added to an inspection plan.
New Global Register
Quickly align scan data to nominal reference for manual and automated inspection plans. Registration is improved between datasets, including cloud to cloud, cloud to mesh, mesh to mesh, or cloud and mesh to CAD.
New Automate RPS Alignment
In response to alignment requirements by the automotive industry and others, the new Automate RPS (Reference Point System) Alignment simplifies the process using points, features, constructs, and surface points to lock in alignment with the CAD model. RPS Alignment provides advanced control of orientation, rotation, position, weight, and target type.
Verisurf Support for New Renishaw REVO Sensors
Verisurf is recognized for its extensive feature-added support of all Renishaw sensors. Support for two new REVO sensors has been added to Verisurf 2024.
RUP1 (Renishaw Ultrasonic Probe) evaluates the thickness of typical metal parts ranging from 1mm (.039”) to 20mm (.787”) with an accuracy of .010mm (.0004”).
SFP2 (Surface Finish Probe) evaluates surface finish/roughness on a variety of surfaces, including bores as small as 5mm (.196”). Verisurf can collect and report RA, RMS, and raw data from the SFP2.
