Coordinate Metrology Society Opens Executive Committee Nominations
The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) has announced that nominations are open for its Executive Committee, including for the position of Vice Chair. Nominees must be members of the CMS.
Founded in 1984, the CMS is a large membership of users, service providers, and OEM manufacturers of close tolerance, industrial coordinate measurement technology. These metrology systems include inspection software, traditional CMMs, theodolites, GPS, laser projection systems, laser trackers, laser radar, photogrammetry/videogrammetry systems, scanning devices, and articulating arms.
The CMS is devoted to expanding and promoting the usage of mobile metrology systems and is committed to education in metrology, STEM, and a Women in Metrology initiative. The CMS also provides professional certification for new and experienced persons in coordinate metrology.
The membership assembles each year at the Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC) to learn about the latest in-use advancements and new product developments in measurement software or systems that produce, utilize, and analyze three-dimensional coordinate data.
CMSC 2022 will be held at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, FL, from July 25–29. Voting for the Executive Committee shall be available to members during the CMSC, and the committee for the 2022–2023 term will be announced at the conclusion of the conference.

A CMS member who has attended at least two CMSCs in the last four years or is a member participating in a CMS Standing or Special Committee with voting privileges for two of the past four years is a potential candidate for the Executive Committee. Combinations of attendance and Standing Committee participation is acceptable.
