ZeroTouch Metrology Wins Ford Motor Company Global Technical Excellence Award
ZeroTouch Metrology has received the Ford Motor Company’s prestigious Technical Excellence Award for its groundbreaking 3D in-process and finished stator inspection using laser-line sensors. The award was recently presented at a live ceremony held at the Ford Experience Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Ford annually recognizes suppliers whose innovations deliver superior quality, on-time delivery, and outstanding performance in support of its manufacturing operations.
ZeroTouch Metrology inspection systems are deployed at multiple Ford facilities, where they deliver rapid, shop-floor measurements of electric motor stator assemblies, particularly focusing on the precise placement of wound hairpins and the measurement of insulating paper height. These inspections yield comprehensive dimensional analyses for applications such as the Ford F-150 Lightning EV and Mustang Mach-E.
Developed in close collaboration with Ford to meet exacting requirements and best practices, the ZeroTouch solution digitizes each workpiece and provides full dimensional reporting in real time. What once required 45 minutes on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) can now be completed in as little as two minutes, empowering manufacturing engineers with instant, actionable feedback that enhances throughput and process control.
