Tiama Inspection Worldwide has announced the acquisition of VIMEC. Based in the Netherlands, with more than 30 years of experience, VIMEC is one of the world’s leading companies in the field of non-molded glass control & inspection for the pharmaceutical industry segment.
VIMEC has developed strong expertise in controlling vials, ampoules, syringes, and cartridges at different steps of their production with its machine vision solutions.
Most recently, VIMEC has been providing dedicated services for the inspection of vials used for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Tiama’s objectives are to speed up VIMEC’s growth by developing synergies including R & D and increasing VIMEC’s Sales and Services presence to a worldwide level.
Tiama also plans to bring technologies it has already developed for food & beverage glass defect recognition which includes artificial intelligence and deep learning to the pharmaceutical segment.
Intelligent Software Gathering Real-Time Data
Tiama’s goal is to provide customers with information to optimize their ‘pack-to-melt’ ratio. To this end, they are working towards, not only maximizing, but also contextualizing data within Smart Factory solutions.
Initially, Tiama inspection machines delivered production data, mainly used for counting purposes. The data however, has a much greater value and this led to the development of Tiama Intelligence Systems that gather real-time data across production lines with results displayed on a single platform. At the heart of the smart factory, Tiama offers enhanced software solutions, identifying production drifts so that corrections can be made automatically and even before the relevant defect occurs.
