PrismIQ Launch Brings AI-Powered Visual Inspection to Manufacturing
Opsio, a Swedish managed cloud services and artificial intelligence company, has announced the global launch of PrismIQ its automated visual inspection service for manufacturers.
Manual visual inspection remains the weakest link in quality control: studies consistently indicate that human inspectors miss defects due to fatigue, subjectivity, and attention lapses, and their accuracy degrades predictably over the course of a shift. On high-speed production lines running hundreds of parts per minute, manual checking simply cannot keep pace. PrismIQ™ replaces sampling and spot checks with tireless, consistent inspection of every single unit, at full line speed.
PrismIQ uses industrial cameras and deep-learning models trained on each customer’s own products for manufacturing defect detection – identifying surface defects, cracks, contamination, dimensional deviations, and assembly errors in real time. Running on edge hardware directly at the production line, Prism IQ enables fast, consistent and repeatable automated inspection. By reducing reliance on manual inspection and helping shorten inspection cycle times, the system can improve quality-control efficiency and reduce associated inspection costs. Results feed straight into existing PLC and SCADA systems for automated sorting, and an active learning pipeline means accuracy keeps improving from real production data.
Unlike generic vision software, PrismIQ is delivered as a complete service: Opsio designs the camera, lens, and lighting setup, trains and validates the detection models, integrates with the factory’s control systems, and operates the solution after go-live – including operator training, quality dashboards, and quarterly performance reviews. A typical deployment moves from feasibility study to full production in eight to twelve weeks.
India – home to one of the world’s fastest-growing manufacturing sectors and to Opsio’s AI Lab in Bengaluru – is the first market where the service becomes commercially available. The choice of India for the global launch reflects both the scale of the opportunity and Opsio’s footprint in the country. PrismIQ is engineered from Opsio’s headquarters in Karlstad, Sweden, and delivered through its ISO 27001-certified centre in Bengaluru, where the company’s AI Lab develops and tests applied AI solutions for industry. The launch also builds on the momentum of the India-Sweden Strategic Partnership, under which both countries have identified artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing as priorities for industrial collaboration.
