Polytec Introduces Terahertz Technology for Process Thickness Measurements
Polytec is expanding its product portfolio with a powerful system for thickness analysis. With the ‘Irys’ terahertz measurement system from Spanish manufacturer das-Nano, the Germany-based company is complementing its existing product range with a sophisticated system for automated industrial applications. Effective immediately, Polytec will handle consulting, sales, and training for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The system operates based on electromagnetic radiation in the terahertz range, offering non-contact, non-destructive, and ultra-fast measurements of coating and material layers. Particularly noteworthy is its real-time multi-layer analysis, which can simultaneously detect up to five layers for various materials and material conditions.
