Optris Expands CTi Pyrometer Portfolio with High-Speed Industrial Models
Optris GmbH & Co. KG has announced the expansion of its successful CTi pyrometer lineup with the introduction of the CTi 1M and CTi 2M models, designed to deliver highly accurate, non-contact temperature measurement in demanding industrial environments. Both sensors retain the compact, modular design of the CTi platform while extending its capabilities across a wider range of applications.
The CTi 1M operates at a short wavelength of 1.0 µm and covers temperatures from 350 °C up to 2200 °C, making it particularly suitable for steel, tungsten, iron, and semiconductor processes. Its rapid exposure time of 110 µs and response time of 320 µs enable reliable monitoring of fast thermal changes, while an optical resolution of up to 75:1 ensures precise readings even from longer distances.
Complementing the 1M, the CTi 2M features a 1.6 µm spectral range optimized for lower metal temperatures between 150 °C and 2000 °C. Its short-wavelength design minimizes measurement deviations caused by emissivity changes and reflections, providing stable readings in real production environments. The miniature sensing head and robust stainless-steel construction make it ideal for integration into confined machinery installations, while both CTi M models offer a lower starting temperature than previous CT series sensors.
CTi LTfast Targets Rapid Thermal Processes
For applications requiring extremely fast control and monitoring, Optris introduces the CTi LTfast. Covering a wide temperature range from –50 °C to 1050 °C, the LTfast delivers response times as low as 6 ms, making it suitable for rapidly changing thermal processes in plastics processing, automation systems, and high-speed production lines. Operating in the 8–14 µm spectral range, the sensor is optimized for high-emissivity targets, and its rugged sensing head withstands ambient temperatures up to 125 °C without additional cooling. Flexible analog and digital interfaces allow seamless integration into modern automation systems.
Industrial Connectivity and Flexible Platform Design
All new CTi models continue Optris’ two-piece design with separated electronics, integrated display, and easy-to-use programming keys. Interface options include analog outputs, a built-in USB connection, RS485, Ethernet-based protocols, and industrial fieldbus systems, supporting straightforward integration and long-term scalability.
“With the new CTi 1M, CTi 2M, and CTi LTfast models, we are significantly expanding the flexibility of our CTi platform,” said Torsten Czech, Head of Marketing at Optris. “Customers benefit from optimized wavelength selection, extremely fast response times, and a compact, robust design that enables reliable temperature measurement across a wide range of industrial applications.”
