North Star Imaging Unveils 9MEV High Energy X-Ray System In Florida
North Star Imaging (NSI) recently opened an X-ray Inspection Services Laboratory in Orlando, Florida. The facility houses a vault with a 9 Million Electron Volt (MeV) high energy CT X-ray system capable of scanning very large dense parts used in aerospace and aviation.
Typical inspections include internal measurements, 3D CAD comparisons, void and/or porosity analysis, surface determinations for reverse engineering, finite element analysis, failure analysis and more. NSI Orlando is located at 6700 Shadowridge Drive, Suite 100, Orlando, FL 32812.
The Florida lab is the first High Energy Computed Tomography scanning service lab in the Southeastern US for inspection of energetics and additive manufactured parts. The MevX9 High Energy system is capable of scanning larger and more dense parts than ever before. This lab also includes an X5000 CT machine, capable of scanning parts up to 32” by 48”, and an X3000, capable of scanning parts up to 19.5” x 24”.
