Hexagon to Acquire MECADAT AG
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire MECADAT AG, a distributor of CAD CAM software and complementary solutions for tool and mould making.
Founded in 1987, MECADAT AG has been a reseller of Hexagon’s VISI production software in Germany for over two decades and supports more than two thousand customers. It also provides complementary application support such as data management platform (DMP) software. Headquartered in Langenbach, Germany, the company employs 27 people and supports an extended network of sub-resellers serving the wider regional market.
“The MECADAT team has tremendous experience in the field of tooling, mould and die and has been successfully supporting VISI customers in Germany for many years,” said Stefan Ruh, EMEA President of Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. “Bringing that experience and knowledge into our direct channel will be hugely beneficial for our customers and employees in the region and I’m confident we will be much better equipped to address the needs of the industry with the MECADAT team on board.”
