Polytec To Focus On Complex Optical Measurement Technology
Optical measurement company Polytec has announced that it will end sales of components for industrial image processing. The related product portfolio comprising the company’s machine vision division will be taken over by the newly founded Jumavis GmbH and continue the business with a new team.
Dirk Samiec, business unit manager in Polytec’s photonics business division, said that the divestment stems from Polytec’s intention to strengthen and expand its core business in the area of complex optical measurement technology, systems, and solutions.
“We have decided to part with the components division, which has been successful until recently, because we want to further strengthen and expand our core business in the area of complex optical measurement technology, systems and solutions,” explains Dr. Dirk Samiec, Business Unit Manager in the Photonics division. Jumavis GmbH, with managing director Johanna Unrath, takes over the complete product range around the industrial image processing. “Our employee Johanna Unrath helped shape image processing at Polytec for 16 years and was the heart of the department for many years. She knows all facets of the business and most of our customers and partners personally. We are very pleased to be able to provide our valued customers with a competent, reliable and trustworthy new partner in Jumavis GmbH.”
The team that has been in charge of industrial image processing at company will continue to work at Polytec with new tasks. Existing customer orders are still being processed by Polytec or transferred to Jumavis at the customer’s request. Polytec remains responsible for existing warranty and service claims.
