Connect to the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance

The Open Industry 4.0 Alliance will be presenting at the Hannover Fair 2022, from May 30 to June 2 (Hall 8, Booth C08), with the theme ‘Connect to the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance’. Whether an open community, an industry or technology company – the alliance will inform the trade fair audience, along with any other interested parties, about the numerous access and interaction opportunities available to alliance members worldwide. This year, the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance will not only demonstrate how Industry 4.0 initiatives can be implemented on the factory floor via practical digitalisation but will also show how members are successfully positioning themselves as a powerful community in the fields of resilience, climate protection and the exportation of industrial plants.

“Germany and other industrialized countries in Europe are predominantly export nations. When it comes to issues of climate change, there are always those who compare the CO2 emissions of European industries against those from the rest of the world in an effort to ‘talk their way out’ of the climate debate. But this is misleading – people forget that we, in Europe, supply parts of the world’s industries with the best equipment available,” explains Nils Herzberg, spokesman for the board at the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance. “However, as an industrial equipment supplier, we are in a position to make key contributions to the environmental friendliness of factories and supply chains around the world. We are putting supply chain resilience into practice and building ‘sustainability by design’ into network software applications. We are eager to bring more mid-sized industrial equipment suppliers on board with this agenda and look forward to welcoming interested parties to our booth in Hannover.”

“There is a product shortage that is affecting 90% of companies in the mechanical engineering, electronics and automotive industries, according to the ifo Institute for Economic Research,” says Ekrem Yigitdöl, Managing Director at the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance. “While procurement within digital supply chains is being used as one solution, other methods and processes need to be ‘rewired’ at lightning speed. For this, we present ourselves as a guide, helping companies to reorganize themselves and tackle these issues in new and different ways. We are very excited to help our members along the way to a connected, circular economy. We have the implementation solutions to do this, and Hannover Messe is the perfect platform for us to present ourselves as an alliance driving Industry 4.0 forward.”

Open Industry 4.0 Alliance’s Fair Highlights

In line with its theme, ‘Connect to the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance’, the alliance will provide information on how medium-sized companies and corporations are driving Industry 4.0 initiatives forward at a faster pace by cooperating with other members, rather than pursuing them on their own. This illustrates the powerful effect of the full alliance, which was launched at Hannover Messe 2019 and now has 96 members. The members of the alliance, all strong medium-sized companies, actively drive international digitisation solutions and services forward despite the current challenges.
