Revopoint Pre-Launches MetroY Series Handheld 3D Scanners for Precision Metrology

Revopoint, from Schenzen China, has announced the pre-launch of its latest handheld 3D scanning platform, the MetroY Series, designed to meet the growing demand for portable, high-precision, and easy-to-use scanning solutions. The MetroY and MetroY Pro models represent the company’s most advanced handheld scanners to date, reinforcing Revopoint’s commitment to making 3D scanning technology more accessible to engineers and manufacturers worldwide.

Next-Generation Scanning for High-Demand Applications

The MetroY Series has been engineered for professionals in aerospace, automotive inspection, reverse engineering, and other industries where both speed and accuracy are paramount. Both MetroY and MetroY Pro leverage multi-line blue laser scanning technology to deliver up to 0.01 mm precision and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.04 mm × L (m). These performance specifications place the MetroY Series firmly in the realm of metrology-grade scanning, suitable for capturing fine details and ensuring quality control of complex geometries.

Wireless Freedom and Seamless Integration

One of the standout features of the MetroY Series is its wireless scanner-to-PC connectivity, providing users with greater freedom of movement during scanning operations. Beyond this, the devices support a scanner-to-PC-to-mobile streaming workflow, offering real-time visualization across multiple devices—an important advantage for collaborative inspection and design workflows.

Flexible Scanning Modes for Complex Parts

The MetroY model supports three versatile handheld laser scanning modes, while the MetroY Pro expands the capability to five modes, including full-field structured blue light scanning. This allows marker-free capture of feature-rich and highly detailed objects at up to 7 million points per second.

Both models are equipped with parallel and single-line scanning modes to accurately digitize fine features such as grooves and deep cavities. The MetroY uses thirty blue laser cross lines, while the MetroY Pro adds more scanning coverage with thirty-four lines and supports integration with an automated Dual-Axis Turntable, ideal for high-resolution, hands-free scanning.

High-Resolution Texture Mapping and Data Quality

Beyond raw geometry, the MetroY Series also supports high-resolution texture mapping, allowing engineers to capture not just form but also surface appearance. This capability provides valuable context for inspection and reverse engineering applications where both dimensional accuracy and visual fidelity are essential.

Revopoint’s scanning ecosystem is complemented by its free 0f charge, integrated software suite, which has been developed based on extensive user feedback. The platform offers an intuitive, single-environment workflow that covers scanning, editing, and exporting. Recent updates have introduced enhanced tracking algorithms, an improved user interface, and more flexible post-processing tools, streamlining the overall workflow from data acquisition to finalized 3D models.

Accessible Metrology

By combining metrology-grade accuracy, multi-mode scanning, wireless flexibility, and an easy-to-use software ecosystem, the MetroY Series delivers a powerful toolset for professionals needing reliable, high-detail 3D digitization. The pre-launch highlights Revopoint’s strategic focus on making cutting-edge scanning technology more portable, affordable, and adaptable to modern manufacturing and inspection environments.
