Keyence has announced the launch of its IM-X1000 Series, the latest generation of the Instant Measurement System lineup, as a modular system designed to meet modern inspection needs. Measuring up to 5,000 dimensions in as little as one second at the push of a button, the IM-X Series introduces a new ultra-wide large stage, multisensor measurement capabilities, and a world-first function to automate challenging and time-consuming part programming.
Modular Design for Every Inspection Need
Fast, easy, and accurate measurements to significantly reduce inspection time remain the core focus of the system – but now with enhanced capabilities. The IM-X allows up to 20 different stage and camera combinations to build the right measurement system for the task. From general-purpose optical comparator applications to advanced multisensor setups, the IM-X provides flexibility to address a wide range of inspection requirements.
Expanded Measurement Range for Larger Parts
Even large parts can now be accommodated, thanks to the system’s increased measurement range of up to 406 mm x 508 mm (16” x 20”) – 3.3 times the measurement area of previous generations. By encompassing a wide range of part sizes with a diverse array of measurement tools, the all-in-one system helps streamline the quality control process.
Multisensor Capabilities for Comprehensive Inspection
The IM-X integrates optical, touch-probe, laser, and rotational measurement technologies, enabling truly comprehensive part inspection within a single system. This multisensor approach allows manufacturers to capture a broader range of dimensional data, eliminating the need for multiple standalone instruments.
Revolutionizing Programming with Smart Automation
Programming has also been innovated to further enhance efficiency, with the ability to import drawings to automatically create programs. By importing CAD, PDF, JPEG, and even paper drawings, users can simply select their critical dimensions, design values, and tolerances to generate inspection routines. The IM-X also employs an AI-driven programming tool, Smart Assist, that auto-adjusts focus, lighting, and edge extraction settings. This eliminates guesswork and reduces the need for manual adjustments, delivering expert-level programming and optimal performance – even for users with no prior optical metrology experience.
