GelSight Mobile 4.2 Software Update Delivers One-Click Automation
GelSight, the tactile intelligence technology specialist, has released its GelSight Mobile 4.2 (GSM 4.2) software update, introducing advanced automation tools and full support for the company’s newly launched Modulus hardware platform. Designed for use across GelSight’s Mobile, Max, and Modulus probes, the update delivers streamlined workflows, faster inspection routines, and greater system flexibility for metrology, manufacturing, and R&D applications.
“GelSight Mobile 4.2 represents a significant leap forward in user experience and workflow automation,” said Milan Kocic, Vice President, Product at GelSight. “We’ve delivered a set of enhancements that make our system easier to navigate, faster, and more powerful, especially with the full integration of Modulus. Our customers will immediately feel the impact.”
Key Enhancements in GSM 4.2
One-Click AutoOffset: Automates offset calculations and surface compensation for rapid, reliable results. Turbine edge defect measurement times are significantly reduced.
Full Modulus Platform Support: Seamless integration with GelSight’s modular system, featuring hot-swappable serialized lenses, extended USB connectivity (up to 5m), RFID-enabled gels for automatic tracking, firmware update automation, and optimized functions including autofocus, autoexposure, gel-state detection, image stabilization, and thermal management.
New Calibration Plate: Support for the FBG-250 Modulus calibration plate improves accuracy and usability, particularly in advanced applications.
Enhanced Imaging and Tool Performance: Improved stabilization for S2 devices, refined 2D tool variants with auto-snapping and pass/fail routines, and optimized memory management for faster operation.
With these upgrades, GelSight Mobile 4.2 is the company’s most capable and user-friendly release to date, minimizing manual input while expanding the scope of automated inspection.
