To address these needs, the Quality Management Team at Stahl Lasertechnik implemented the Kreon Ace+ 3.50 measuring arm paired with the Skyline Eyes 3D scanner and PolyWorks metrology software, resulting in a more accurate, efficient, and flexible quality workflow.

Dual Sensor Arm Delivers Precise Analysis

The integration of the Kreon Ace+ measuring arm and Skyline Eyes 3D scanner allows Stahl Lasertechnik to combine contact probing with non-contact 3D scanning for precise analysis of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T).

Initially, engineers used the Kreon arm to inspect individual parts and refine manufacturing processes. Over time, 3D scanning was routinely combined with traditional probing to maximize efficiency and measurement accuracy. To further improve flexibility, the company plans to add a rolling trolley, allowing the measuring arm to move freely and reach large components directly on the shop floor.

This approach also improves collaboration with clients. After the inspection of a first part, the measurement file—including methods and tolerances—is sent to customers for review, validation, or modification before full-scale production.
