Nikon Metrology Divests CMM Manager Software To QxSoft
Nikon Metrology has announced that US based QxSoft LLC has acquired Nikon Metrology’s CMM-Manager business.
CMM-Manager is a task-oriented and highly intuitive 3D metrology software package for vision, manual, and CNC coordinate measuring machines that is compatible with a wide range of machine brands and probing systems without the need for a hardware upgrade. This makes CMM-Manager one of the preferred solutions for CMM retrofits.
QxSoft, based in Columbus Ohio is a newly established company owned by Mr. Jian Shi, current CMM-Manager development manager, and Mr. Nathan Frost, current CMM-Manager product manager. As Mr. Jian Shi, Mr. Nathan Frost and their team have been at the core of the CMM-Manager business for many years, they offer the best guarantee for continued customer support and further growth of the business.
Tadashi Nakayama, Corporate VP of Nikon, welcomed the plans: “This business transfer is in line with the Nikon Corporation strategic review to focus on Optical and X-ray inspection and Non-contact metrology”.

Both companies will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition for customers and resellers.
In a separate communication to the reseller channel Nikon Metrology stated “A few years ago, Nikon made a strategic decision to concentrate its industrial metrology business on non‐contact inspection technology such as optical 3D metrology and X‐Ray CT inspection. CMM‐ Manager, as the preferred solution for CMM retrofit, does not fit within this focus. To provide an optimal customer experience and guarantee the future integration of Nikon products into CMM‐Manager, Nikon Metrology and QxSoft have signed a long‐term cooperation and reseller agreement. The Nikon products covered by this agreement include Nexiv video measurement systems, measurement microscopes, MCAx S portable CMM, and X‐Ray inspection systems. Under this agreement, Nikon Metrology will be the exclusive reseller of CMM‐Manager in combination with Nikon products and will provide first‐ and second‐line customer support.”
