Mitutoyo Announce China Reorganization
As part of the company’s promotion of its unified strategy in the Chinese market, Mitutoyo has announced a reorganization to its sales & service operations in China.
Mitutoyo Measuring Instruments (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will sell Mitutoyo products and provide services throughout China, including southern China from July 1st, 2020. The company states that it will continue to strive to provide products and services that satisfy even more customers throughout China.
Mitutoyo Measuring Instruments (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will take over the operations of the offices in Dongguan, Fuzhou and Changsha, originally part of Mitutoyo Leeport Metrology (Dongguan) Limited. Mitutoyo Leeport Metrology (Dongguan) Limited will be closed.
In January 2020 Mitutoyo Corporation in Japan announced the completion of the purchase of 49% of the issued capital of Mitutoyo Leeport Metrology Corporation from Leeport Machine Tool Co., Ltd to become its 100% shareholder. On 13 November 2019 Leeport Machine Tool Co., Ltd announced that it had entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement, pursuant to which Mitutoyo Corporation had conditionally agreed to acquire their 49% issued share capital at the consideration of HK$100,000,000 (US$13,000,000).
As part of the agreement Leeport Machine Tool Co., Ltd has been appointed as Mitutoyo’s preferred distributor in Southern China for its products through the Leeport sales channel and network.
