Metrology for Additive Manufacturing

The UK’s University of Nottingham Manufacturing Metrology Team is running a ‘Metrology for Additive Manufacturing’ Course 3rd-7th September, 2018.

The course provides lectures on a range of cutting-edge metrology topics for additive manufacturing, both post- and in-process. Learning material includes introductory and advanced metrology lectures, and hands-on training in the use of measuring instruments. The lectures are designed to explain the challenges when measuring additively manufactured parts and to convey best measurement practice.

The lectures will include the following topics: Measurement technologies | Measurement methodology | AM surfaces | In-situ metrology | Measurement during AM processes | Form metrology | Contact measurement | Optical measurement | X-ray CT measurement | Practical application | Surface and form lab sessions | Applied case study| Cutting-edge research symposium | All aspects of AM metrology.
