MACH 2022 Expo Returns After Four Year Absence

MACH 2022 is set to be the most significant gathering of manufacturers in the UK for four years. Aside from highlighting some of the most important issues facing the manufacturing industry, such as sustainability and the drive to net zero, the exhibition will also feature the largest display of new machinery and manufacturing technologies under one roof in the UK for four years.

The latest developments in advanced manufacturing, reviving the manufacturing economy post-COVID-19 and the capabilities of the unique network of companies comprising the UK manufacturing supply chain will all receive special focus during the five-day event.

The arrival of the exhibition, which opens its doors at the NEC in Birmingham, UK between 4-8th April, could not be timelier for the manufacturing sector. The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) believes the growing optimism surrounding the sector will see bumper levels of business transacted during the show.

James Selka, CEO of the MTA, said: “With the UK economy growing above forecasts for 2021 and the CBI predicting that plans for spending on plant and machinery over the coming twelve months have improved considerably, the timing of MACH 2022 could not be better. MACH is the national manufacturing and engineering show, and as a content-led event it brings together the latest advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies in operation. It will feature the largest display of new machinery and manufacturing technologies under one roof in the UK for four years. As such, it will be perfect place for manufacturers to come and view the best new machines on the market.”

MACH is the longest-running manufacturing and engineering exhibition in the UK and its distinctive ability to showcase the largest variety of manufacturing technology solutions in the country, makes it unique and therefore, of such critical importance to the industry.

The ability of Additive Manufacturing to be a significant disruptive technology for UK manufacturers will receive a special focus at MACH 2022. The focus will be underpinned by the relaunch of the only UK trade association dedicated to the sector, AM-UK.

AM-UK is designed for companies who work with Additive and 3D printing technology – such as materials suppliers, design services, machine suppliers or post processing services.

Additive Manufacturing is a truly transformational technology that is increasingly having a disruptive impact on traditional methods of production enabling businesses to develop new and better products at lower cost and with greater sustainability.

Setup in 2014, AM-UK was initially a government-supported collaboration to help drive the UK’s additive manufacturing strategy. In 2020 AM-UK became part of the wider Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) family. The MTA is now positioning AM-UK as the authoritative voice of the UK’s addictive manufacturing sector.

James Selka, CEO, MTA, which organizes the MACH exhibition, said: “The ability of AM-UK to be the voice of the sector will be crucial in the development of the technology and the firms using it. Our aim is to establish the UK as a world leader in the development and adoption of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing technology across all industry sectors.”  At MACH 2022, AM-UK is sponsoring the 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Zone and is using the occasion to highlight the benefits of the association to a wider audience. Key to this will be the relaunch of the AM-UK website and a new network portal.
