CMM Optic Expands Into Electro-Optical Systems With Acquisition
CMM Optic has announced its business expansion into optical and mechanical design engineering and electro-optical systems through the acquisition of the Rochester Hills, Michigan operation of Global Imaging Technologies, formerly known as Axsys Technologies and Speedring.

With this acquisition, CMM Optic builds on over 30 years of industry-leading manufacturing and customer support for metal and plastic optics, precision machined components, and mechanical & optomechanical assemblies. The acquisition adds additional capability offerings which include telescopes, collimators, fast steering mirrors, laser scanning and other integrated systems to its product lines and beam delivery solutions.
CMM Optic offers the capability to meet surface finishes below 50 angstroms, with feature sizes frequently less than 75 microns. CMM Optic verify in-house its state-of-the-art inspection equipment including a Zygo NewView 9000 3D optical surface profiler which allows a wide range of surface types to be measured at high speeds including freeform and other non-flat optics to be measured with sub-micron accuracy.
