Automation Components Launched for Optical Measuring Cells

Topometric are the largest independent industrial measurement provider in Germany with locations in Göppingen and Munich with 6,000 m² of floor space, 85 experienced engineers and technicians and an installed 35 GOM Optical Measuring Systems and 12 Zeiss tactile CMMs.

With over 20 years experience in industry metrology engineering Topometric has now introduced a range of automation system components to streamline inspection cell part loading and automate part presentation during the inspection process providing increased cell efficiency and productivity.

Rotary Table Fast Loading System (DSW)

The rotary table fast loading system (DSW) developed for use in Topometric robotic measuring cells and GOM ATOS ScanBoxes allows the quick and ergonomic loading/unloading of fixtures and parts. The system consists of a rotary table module, base plate for holding the fixture, and one or more loading trolleys, which can also used as mobile loading station and positioning system. Part fixtures slid directly from the loading trolley onto the rotary table module. While part measurements are being carried out, the loading trolley can be prepared with the next component to be inspected.

Lift and Pivot Unit (HSE)

With the HSE unit, parts to be inspected can be ergonomically loaded at a lower position and with assistance of the universal quick-release frame, raised to the cell measuring position using the HSE lift functionality. With the additional controllable axis, the components can also be pivoted allowing both front and back sides to be fully automatically measured in position without having to reload the part onto the fixture. Virtually every automated project measuring cell and GOM ATOS ScanBox can be retrofitted with the HSE system.

Rotate-Lift Unit (DHE) for Large Scale Components

The newly developed Rotate-Lift Unit (DHE) facilitates optical measuring of vertically-clamped, large-scale components in installation position. The grid base plate can be raised or lowered automatically and allows ergonomic mounting and optimum positioning of components. The integrated robot axis can be rotated 270 degrees, so components can be rotated into their ideal position for the measuring process. The DHE unit also allows the robotic measuring cell to take up considerably less space.
