New 3D Software For Laser Profile Scanners

Micro Epsilon has released its latest scanCONTROL 3D-View software, version 3.0, providing a number of new features including allowing collected scanned data to be displayed faster as a 3D model. In addition, a color coding based on height values, intensity and other reflection parameters is now performed.

The latest software version offers more realistic visualization with its new perspective representation feature. High-resolution displays are now also supported in full-screen mode. Measurement data can be exported for further processing in image processing tools, 3D inspection tools and CAD programs. A new 64-bit version increases ease of use.

Other included features:

  • Complete support of Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit)
  • Setting vertical sections in 2D view
  • Loading profiles and parameters using Drag & Drop

A third dimension of the measured data is obtained by a relative movement between sensor and target. The assignment of the Y-coordinate is performed using triggers, encoder value processing and indication of movement speed (sensor or object). The scanCONTROL 3D-View software is designed for viewing and exporting of 3D data. The software enables interactive 3D views of profile sequences and their export into common file format which can be imported into the user’s CAD environment (.asc, .stl, .csv). The software also enables the configuration of scanCONTROL sensors.
