As we enter the period of summer holidays many parts of the world have been experiencing record temperatures. Whether its global warming or just the systematic earth cycle causing the abnormal temperatures this year Metrology News is witnessing a significant ‘heating-up’ of the industrial metrology sector. We have been reporting on the record sales and profit levels being announced by major public companies operating in the sector clearly indicating that the uptake of metrology by manufacturing is increasing. We are also seeing a continued flurry of acquisitions as metrology suppliers adjust their strategies and add technology components and products to strengthen their market positions to better serve the growing global metrology market. This level of growth and continued investment demonstrates the critical role that metrology will play as industry transitions into Industry 4.0.
